Melissa is a doctoral candidate presently "in the field" at home. She is working towards a dissertation that explores Armenian American youth subjectivities in light of diaspora-homeland relations, ambivalences and contestations around recognition of the Armenian genocide, and "prosthetic memory." She is also interested in epistemological questions related to intersections of education, history, and media.
