Studies the intersections between health, food, and exchange in the Pacific. Her doctoral research focuses on how Fijians construct their conceptions of health and how changes in food and market availability has shifted gifting relationships. Previous research has explored Native Hawaiian ideas about traditional foods and chronic pain in the US.
